Super Falcons of Nigeria drop one spot while Super Eagles of Nigeria maintain top spot in latest FIFA ranking


The Super Falcons of Nigeria have dropped to 37th position in the latest FIFA Women’s World ranking.

 

 

The new ranking was released on the world’s soccer govering body official website on Thursday, December 11.

 


The Super Falcons were not in action during the last FIFA international break.

 

 

Justine Madugu’s side were previously ranked 36th in the world.

 

 

Nigeria however maintained top position in Africa despite their drop globally.

 

 

 

Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Black Princesses of Ghana, Copper Queens of Zambia, and Atlas Lionesses of Morocco complete the top five African teams on the ranking.

 

 

 

Spain maintained top spot on the ranking with the United States of America, Germany, England and Sweden completing the top five.

Any police officer escorting VIP is on illegal duty and will be arrested - Force Spokesman

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has warned that any police officer found providing escort or protection for Very Important Persons (VIPs) will be arrested, describing such assignments as “illegal duty” under the current directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.   The spokesperson of the police force, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this while speaking on Channels TV on Tuesday, December 2.   Hundeyin stressed that the enforcement operation is fully underway, emphasising that all officers attached to VIP protection duties have been withdrawn.   “The enforcement is on. The IGP gave the directive that any police officer found escorting VIPs be arrested because, definitely, he is on illegal duty. NATO Allies vow major new purchases of US Arms for Ukraine

NATO countries pledged on Wednesday, December 3, to buy hundreds of millions more dollars of US arms for Ukraine, sending a strong signal of continued support despite ongoing US-led peace talks with Moscow.
