Super Eagles of Nigeria footballer Ademola Lookman nominated for Ballon d’or 2024 award

Super Eagles and Atalanta star,  Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.


The 26-year-old was shortlisted alongside 29 players around the World for the coveted award.  Lookman is the only African in the full list of Ballon d’Or contenders.


Lookman scored 17 goals and made 11 assists for Atalanta last season. He was also pivotal in the club winning their first-ever European title.


He also gained global recognition after heroics in the Europa League final where he scored a hat-trick as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen.


Other notable nominees in the men’s category include Jude Bellingham, Vini Junior, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.


Yamine Lamal, Toni Kroos, Phil Foden, and Rodri are also included on the list of nominees.

Alexey Navalny says as he is handed new two and half year jail term - "My main offense to him is that he will go down in history as Putin the Poisoner'

Russian political activist, Alexey Navalny has labelled Russia's president, Vladimir Putin as "Putin the poisoner." after a Moscow court on Tuesday, February 2, sentenced him to prison for more than two and a half for breaking his parole conditions by going to Germany to recover after he was posioned by a lethal never agent.     Tuesday's hearing happened under a heavy security presence, with riot police securing the court building and cordoning off the general area with police vehicles, trucks and vans.      Police reportedly detained up to 360 of Navalny's supporters outside the court before the hearing had begun.     Since Navalny was arrested last week after coming back to Russia, following months of ICU treatment in Germany after he was allegedly poisoned by the Russian state, there have been mass protests in Russia, as tens of thousands of Russians have demanded the activist's release.  Navalny blames the Novichok nerve agent attac...

Transgender Nigerian, Miss Sahhara slams Victoria Inyama for saying Bolu Okupe shouldn't have made his sexual orientation public

Miss Sahhara has slammed actress Victoria Inyama for the comment she made after Bolu Okupe came out as gay.   Victoria reacted to Bolu's revelation by telling him that he "didn't need to announce it."     Miss Sahhara hit back, telling Victoria that she needs to get an education if she's advocating for gay men to keep quiet about their sexuality.   Miss Sahhara added that she's even more appalled because she heard Victoria has a degree in Social Psychology yet she has no idea how best to handle such a situation.   Thanks for Reading

Microsoft makes remote work option permanent worldwide
