BEST DRIVER – MAX VERSTAPPEN

I don’t think there’s any doubt on this one. This was an unbelievable season for Max who put in some huge underdog performances early on to snaffle a couple of wins from McLaren, before storming in with the big threat in the final third of the season.

He eventually came up agonisingly short in achieving one of sport's all time great fightbacks, but he gave it absolutely everything.

Grammy-winning artist, John Legend has opened up about his former collaborator Kanye West, describing the rapper and producer’s transformation over the past two decades as both “sad” and “sometimes shocking.” In a recent interview, Legend reflected on their early creative partnership during the making of his debut album Get Lifted, which was released in 2004. Utah governor Spencer Cox has sparked criticism after he said Friday, September 12, that he had hoped Charlie Kirk's shooter "wouldn’t be one of us".  On Friday, it was announced that the suspect arrested for the a$$assination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old white man from a pro-gun family with parents who are registered Republicans.  Speaking at a press conference, Cox said while he was grateful for the quick arrest of a suspect in Charlie Kirk’s a$$assination, he had hoped the suspect “wouldn’t be one of us,” hoping it would be someone from another state or country.  He said he thought it would “make it easier” to be able to say, “We don’t do that here.”  “For 33 hours, I was praying that if this had to happen here that it wouldn't be one of us — that somebody drove from another state, somebody came from another country… Sadly, that prayer was not answered the way I hoped for… But it did happen here, and it was one...

Cuba charges former Minister with espionage and other crimes

Cuban prosecutors have formally charged former economy minister Alejandro Gil with espionage and a range of other serious offences, including bribery, embezzlement, tax evasion, and money laundering, the Attorney General’s Office announced on Friday evening.   Gil, 61, served as Minister of Economy and Planning from 2019 until February 2024, when he was abruptly removed from office. Soon after, authorities revealed that he was under investigation for what they described at the time as “committing serious errors,” though no further details were provided.   In the new statement, prosecutors said they had asked that Gil and other unnamed individuals be held accountable for “crimes of espionage” and “acts detrimental to economic activity.”   The statement also cited a long list of alleged offences, including embezzlement, bribery, falsification of public documents, influence peddling, money laundering, tax evasion, and violation of classified document protection r...
