British Grand Prix 2025 Season


Following another sensational year, as McLaren’s Lando Norris won his maiden title, we recently asked you to vote for which Grand Prix had been your favourite.

With 22% of the vote, a barnstorming British Grand Prix came out on top as Norris claimed an emotional win in mixed conditions, while Kick Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg took his maiden F1 podium on his 239th start.

ICPC interrogates Lagos council chairman over alleged fund diversion

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed the interrogation of Muibi Folawiyo, Chairman of the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, over allegations of extensive financial misconduct.   Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, July 2, ICPC spokesperson Demola Bakare said the council chairman is under investigation for multiple offences, including the alleged theft of public funds, diversion of government resources for personal gain, and circumventing official administrative procedures.   “He was arrested at the council secretariat on 42 Broad Street, Lagos, after repeatedly ignoring invitations which he acknowledged,”  Bakare said.   According to the ICPC, the summon was carried out by operatives from the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.  “He is currently in our custody. Ighalo touches down in Saudi Arabia to seal his move to Al-Shabab from Shanghai Shenhua after loan spell at Manchester United

Odion Ighalo has touched down in Saudi Arabia to seal his move to Al-Shabab from Shanghai Shenhua after his loan spell at Manchester United ended last month. The Nigerian international, 31, shared photos of himself and his agent in Riyadh following their arrival in Saudi.   The move for the Ighalo is subjected to him passing a medical after the footballer was given permission to talk with the Saudi Arabian club, according to Mail Online Football.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Presidency of orchestrating a plot to destabilise the growing opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.   The party's claim comes amid internal legal and political challenges, including a suit filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja by three aggrieved members seeking to sack the Senator David Mark-led interim leadership of the party.   Amid these developments, the immediate past national chairman of the ADC, Ralph Nwosu, warned that the newly formed opposition coalition could collapse under the pressure of conflicting interests and rival political factions if not carefully managed.   Meanwhile, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, announced his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC). UFC icon, Ben Askren undergoes double lung transplant surgery

Former UFC fighter and Bellator champion, Ben Askren, has undergone a successful double lung transplant one week after being placed on the waiting list due to severe pneumonia that left him on a ventilator in critical condition.    His wife, Amy Askren, shared an emotional update on social media Monday morning, expressing gratitude and hope for his recovery.   "We are so thankful to share that Ben has received a double lung transplant," Amy wrote. "We are forever thankful to the donor and his family. This is the beginning of a new lifestyle for Ben, but every new day he has is a gift. It still doesn't feel real that he was walking around completely healthy just five weeks ago.
