Brazilian vice president arrives Nigeria for strategic dialogue


The Vice President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckmin, and his wife, Maria Alckmin, arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday, June 24, to participate in the Second Session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM), signalling a major step in bilateral relations between the two nations.

 

The delegation touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and was received by top Nigerian officials, including Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole.

 

Other officials present to welcome the Brazilian delegation included the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari.

Silento The American Rapper charged with murdering his cousin

American rapper, Silento, known for his hit song and viral dance craze “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of his cousin. The Atlanta-born star, whose real name is Ricky Lamar Hawk, 23, was arrested Monday after DeKalb police investigated the recent death of 34-year-old Frederick Rooks. He was booked into the DeKalb jail on one count of murder, police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent said in a statement. He was being held without bond late Monday February 1, jail records showed. Police responded to a shots fired call on January 21 around 3:30 a.m. in the Panthersville area. They found Rooks dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, according to DeKalb police Lt. Rod Bryant. Trump and Giuliani sued by NAACP over US Capitol attack

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Rep. Bennie Thompson, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, have sued former US President Donald Trump, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani and two right-wing extremist groups, alleging they conspired to incite the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.   The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, February 16, in Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges that Trump and Giuliani, in collaboration with the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, conspired to incite the riot to keep Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election.    It claims they did so in violation of the Ku Klux Klan Act, a Reconstruction-era statute designed to protect both formerly enslaved African Americans and lawmakers in Congress from white supremacist violence.   Reps.
