Messi hints at possible comeback after emotional return to Camp Nou in Spain

Lionel Messi says he has visited the newly renovated Camp Nou and hopes to one day return to the iconic stadium to finally bid supporters the farewell he never got to give.

The Argentina and Barcelona legend, now 38, left the club in 2021 amid Barca’s severe financial crisis, moving first to Paris Saint-Germain before joining Inter Miami two years later.

“Last night I returned to a place I deeply miss. A place where I was immensely happy, where you made me feel a thousand times like the happiest person in the world,” Messi wrote on Instagram.

He added that he still hopes to come back in the future, not just as a visitor but to receive the proper goodbye he was denied when he departed unexpectedly in 2021.

Messi remains adored in Barcelona, where he spent more than two decades and became the club’s all-time top scorer. His message comes just days after scoring twice for Inter Miami on Saturday to help his team advance in the MLS Cup play-offs.
