Pastor Tunde Bakare denies seeking personal gain in meeting with Tinubu

Tunde Bakare, serving overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has addressed public speculation surrounding his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, insisting it was not driven by any personal or political ambition.

Bakare, who contested in the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 presidential primaries, met with Tinubu at the president’s residence in Lagos on June 4. The meeting drew attention and stirred debate over the possible motives behind the visit.

Speaking during a sermon at his church, Bakare dismissed suggestions that he was seeking favours or positions from the Tinubu administration.

“Some people still think he has gone there to settle himself. In what way have I settled myself before? What they gave me, I returned. What am I looking for?” Bakare said.
