Ebele Obiano, the first lady of Anambra state has shared a video online as she received the second dose of the COVID19 vaccine.

In January, she received heat online after she shared a video of herself taking the first shot of the vaccine in the US. Nigerians attacked her for taking the vaccine in the US when the same hasn't been made available to residents of Anambra state.

Mrs Obiano in a statement said that she received the vaccine and shared the video to encourage everyone to take it. She also stated that she took it to dismiss claims that the vaccine is meant to kill Africans.

Having shaped the treaty, Africa must capitalise on recent global momentum to benefit from a new era in ocean governance

Image
In June, the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) culminated in an ambitious political declaration that marks a turning point for global ocean governance. The highlight was the progress made in adopting the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement (High Seas Treaty). About 750 residents had been evacuated near the port city of Swinoujscie. The RAF dropped the Tallboy or "earthquake" bomb in a raid in 1945 which sank the German cruiser Lützow. Swinoujscie was part of Germany and called Swinemünde at the time of the bombardment. The shock of the latest detonation was reportedly felt in parts of the city and a video shows the blast throwing up a large column of water into the air. The bomb was 6m (19ft) long and weighed 5.4 tonnes, nearly half of which was its explosives. The bomb was embedded at a depth of 12m  and only its nose was sticking out.
